ERIE COUNTY 4-H/YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
GOLDEN CLOVER CLUB

WHAT IS 4-H?
4-H is an opportunity for parents and other adults to help develop youth in their community. It's a dynamic youth development program whose mission is to help young people become self-directed, productive, and contributing members of society through experiential, informal educational programs. 4-H meets the basic needs of youth to belong and be with friends, to learn new and exciting things, and to have fun. Through 4-H, youth:

      • acquire subject-matter skills and knowledge in a variety of project areas;
      • acquire a positive self-concept and gain self confidence as they experience success;
      • learn to respect and get along with people as they work side by side with adults and peers to accomplish common goals;
      • learn and practice leadership skills and fulfill leadership roles;
      • participate in community affairs and develop citizenship skills; and
      • explore and evaluate job opportunities.

4-H is the youth development program of Penn State's Cooperative Extension System. 4-H projects apply the research and educational base of the land grant university, and volunteers work in cooperation with extension staff to deliver the 4-H program to youth. 4-H membership is open is open to all youth ages 8-19 without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, religion, disability or handicap, or place of residence.

The Erie County 4-H/Youth Development Program reaches more than 2000 young people each year with its nonformal educational youth empowerment programs. More than 130 caring adult volunteers provide leadership to the county's more than 30 4-H clubs and special interest groups every year.

WHAT IS THE ERIE COUNTY 4-H GOLDEN CLOVER CLUB?
A unique partnership composed of government and private funding sources makes possible the many 4-H opportunities available for our young people.

We could not successfully provide a strong and growing 4-H/Youth Development Program in Erie County without the annual support of our many private funding partners.

The Erie County 4-H Golden Clover Club is an opportunity for local businesses and individuals to demonstrate their on-going support of Erie County's 4-H members and volunteers. We welcome into the Club those partners who contribute a minimum of $150 annually in support of the Erie County 4-H/Youth Development Program. Members of the Golden Clover Club receive a plaque with five annual year plates in recognition of their ongoing dedication to and support of the county's 4-H programs and the youth who are members of these programs.

Membership in the Golden Clover Club is granted to the following Erie-area businesses and funding partners, in recognition of their ongoing dedication to and support of the county's 4-H programs and the youth who are members of these programs.
